Daniel & the Antichrist - Part 1: Introduction
I recently wrote a paper on “The Book of Daniel and the Future Antichrist” for a class I am doing, so I thought I would share the following notes with you. If you have any questions, you can comment below.
Introduction
No topic in eschatology has had more speculation surrounding it or fascination attributed to it than that of the person of the future Antichrist. Even though no one knows who Antichrist is because he will not be revealed until after the rapture, which has yet to occur, the Bible does reveal the kind of person that he will be. The term antichrist only appears four times in the Apostle John’s epistles, but there are types and prophecies found all through the Old Testament as well as descriptions in the New Testament that all point to this individual who opposes Christ. The prophetic book of Daniel sheds more light on Antichrist than any other book of Scripture.
This paper will attempt examine what can be learned specifically from the book of Daniel about the origin, character, power, agenda, and demise of Antichrist.
