Travis' Testimony

Being raised in a fine Christian home, I grew up under the preaching and teaching of the Word of God and was consequently saved at a young age. My mother led me to the Lord in our home in September of 1985. When I was nine years old, the Lord called me to the mission field, and later, specifically to the country of Ireland.

Throughout my life, God has been preparing me for the work He has called me to do. As a child, I always had a great interest in missions. During my teen years, I was able to get more involved in missions through many summer trips to several cities in Ohio and to New York City. I also had the opportunity to take missions trip to the countries of Canada, Ecuador, and Peru.

In the fall of 1999, I enrolled in Crown College to begin formal education for the mission field. As part of my college preparation, I was privileged to spend from June to December of 2001 on the mission field of Peru, South America, with Missionary Austin Gardner. This unique opportunity for intense on-the-field training taught me many things about the practical aspects of mission work.

On December 2, 2000, I spent time with a young lady named Teri Smith on a college activity. We grew to know and love each other deeply. I finally got up the nerve to ask this beautiful Christian girl to be my wife. She said "yes," and we were married on July 6, 2002.

I am excited about God's calling on our lives. He has given us a great burden for the lost souls of Ireland, and we am looking forward to the work to which God has called us. I ask that you would please pray for us as I go.
